Day 3: Oslo Touring

by Liz and Kennedy

Today we went into downtown Oslo, which was really fun! We started with a walk through a garden with interesting modern architecture. What we mean by modern architecture is that there were a whole bunch of naked sculptures :). They were actually very interesting and there was one huge totem pole of rock people. The park was beautiful and I was surprised to see ducks in the water!

After the park, we loaded back into the van to go to downtown Oslo. We met at The Royal Castle which may have been inhabited by the king and queen! We were given a list of important things to see and 3 hours. Groups formed, and we had lots of fun touring the city and seeing Norwegian life up close.

Our group consisted of Keelan, Kennedy, Greta, and Liz. We were given the task to take selfies at 5 of the most important places to visit. We found a fortress along the river, which was amazing and unfortunately, no one else found it.

On our way back, we stopped for hot chocolate and donut-like things. We also had lots of time to look around, shop, and we even found a lady giving out free coke ;). Kennedy had her first coke and it was a mind blowing and awakening experience. We were also offered balloons by a sketchy lady who tried to get us to pay for balloons we didn’t want. We were responsible and gave them back politely. After the adventure, we met back to the Royal Palace and saw the guards performing a changing of the guard ceremony. We apologize for the brevity, but we have been so busy and it’s time for bed now 🙂
