We arrived at Centerra and left for Lake Placid at 12:25 pm. The adventurous trip to the famous Olympic center had begun. The ride up was quite uneventful. We wound around on tiny roads all the way to Lake Placid, stopping at Snowbowl downhill ski area in Middlebury, Vermont. We arrived at Lake Placid in time to walk around and view the course. The course seemed very nice and hilly. We then took a short drive to our house that was right downtown. Our house was fairly large with a big kitchen and livingroom. There were only enough beds enough for some of us so a few people had to go to another house to sleep. While some of the team cooked up a wonderful supper of burritos others played a fun game of Telestrations.
After dinner the girls braided and ponytailed all the boys’ hair. Then we all put on lifejackets we found in the basement and got our picture taken. We then had an interesting team meeting where we discussed the events of the day to come. We then settled down into our beds at 9:30.
