Today, after getting out of school at 1, we made our way up to Craftsbury in the van. We listened to Colin’s selected playlist that included lots of Bob Marley. When we finally get to Craftsbury we quickly got Dennis back on the roof of the van to get our skis down. We did a few laps around the1.3k loop that will be the course for the sprint tomorrow…Boy is it fast and short! After the few laps we did some speeds on the final down hill and uphill at the finish so we could get a feel for what it was going to be like in the sprint tomorrow. It was a good pre race look and I figured out that speed skating was the best way to go down most of the hills at top speed. When we were finished skiing Dennis got back on the roof to put our skis away while we changed into dry clothes for the 40 min drive to the rental house. When we got there it was straight into action. We got all the equipment out of the van including the main necessity…food. Once everything was brought in Colin and I quickly got all the food out and organized it. Everyone chimed in on making dinner, which was quite delicious. We were all cutting onions and peppers, stirring the filling, making the salad, or making the brownies…oh and I can’t forget Erik cutting the chicken with the huge knife! Finally we sat down and ate a hearty meal, everything made ourselves. Afterwards we had time to take showers and socialize. At around 8:30 we started the discussion on the race for the next day. We talked about what the motions were and how we felt. It was a good talk and I think we all learned some new things from it. Finally the time came upon us for the one thing that we wanted to do; Sleep! Looking forward to the race tomorrow.
